Horseshoe crab (Limulus polyphemus) on the Marsh

I was mesmerized by the sight of the horseshoe crab, one of the oldest creatures on Cape Cod, elegantly traversing the muddy flats within the marsh as the spring season unfolded. These ancient beings have remained virtually unchanged for at least 445 million years. It is a remarkable experience to witness them during their mating season, from early spring into summer, as they navigate the picturesque marshscape.
